Prague castle was founded around year 880 by Premyslid dynasty. Guinness Book of records recognizes Prague castle as a largest coherent castle comples in the world, with area of almost 70 000m3.
As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it consist of compostition of palaces and church buildings made in various architectural styles, from most ancient Roman-style buildings through Gothic modifications from 14 century.
Charles bridge
The Charles Bridge is a famous historic monument on Vltava river, Prague. Its construction started in 1357 during reign of famous King Charles IV, and was finished in the beginning of the 15th century. It was only means to crossing Vltava river until 1841, so Charles bridge was the most important connection between Prague Castle and the city's Old Town and adjacent areas. This "solid-land" connection made Prague important as a trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.
Charles bridge has unique profile, it is 516 meters long and 10 meters wide, based on 16 arches shielded by ice guards. It is protected by three bridge towers, two of them on the Lesser Quarter side and the third one on the Old Town side. The Old Town bridge tower is often considered to be one of the most astonishing civil gothic-style buildings in the world. The bridge is decorated by a alley of 30 statues and statuaries, most of them in baroque-style, originally erected around 1700.
National theatre
The National Theatre is one of the most important Czech cultural institutions, with a amazing artistic tradition which was created and maintained by the most distinguished personalities in Czech society.
Emauzy monastery
Monastery was founed in 1347 by King Charles IV and it is still used as Benedictine abbey nowdays. Whole complex is positioned just near the river.

Dancing house
Dancing house is modern building on Rašínovo nábřeží just next to river. Controversil abstract design was supported, during its building, by former president Vaclav Havel in 1992.
